Life

Today I had the wonderful experience of witnessing the birth...of a butterfly. About 3 weeks ago I ordered butterfly larvae for a science experience at school. The caterpillars were very tiny at first, but then they grew and grew. Eventually they all formed themselves into a chrysalis. My students thought this was awesome and were counting the days when they would hatch. We all sort of...miscalculated the birthing event. I walked into my classroom and saw four butterflies already hatched. I was worried they were dead since I wasn't there to feed them. But they were alive. Well you can imagine the excitement my co-worker and I felt. We were too busy watching the butterflies to get ready for class! Right before the kids arrived, the last chrysalis began to shake. Right before our eyes, this tiny creature began to shake it's way out. Much to our dismay, it only got so far and then stopped. We were afraid it might die so we tried to help it out. I can now add "surgeon " to my resume. Unforntunatley, the wings didn't form correctly and he wasn't able to fly. I thought it was so sad, but even in nature things don't always come out right. Life is full of bad and good things. I'm just glad I have the Lord to help me through those times.

I have to share this little story about my daughter. She attends a daycare while I work and she loves it there. Jackie, the owner, spoils her rotten. But today, I guess Ciara was too onery for her own good. Jackie had put her down for a nap and Ciara wouldn't go to sleep; she was quite noisy. Finally, Jackie went into the napping room and told Ciara, "I have enough!" Ciara replied, "No you haven't"!!!
What will she be like when she's 13?

What a neat thing to see...the butterflys. My kids would have loved to have seen that. I also loved the story about Ciara at daycare...what a stinker. Can't wait to see you.

The "birth of a butterfly"...Isn't God's creation just amazing? Your little girl sounds like she brings alot of excitement and fun to life! (Remember when we were teenagers??????? I don't think that I am quite prepared for that stage yet! ha!) Have a good week!

Cool!! That would be really neat to see. You got lucky to be there just in time. Too bad the poor little guy didn't make it. Thanks for the new picture of Ciara. She sure is a cutie and is growing up quickly. See you in June.
