Milestone

Today my daughter reached a milestone...her first visit to the dentist. I was hoping for an easy time, but it was not to be. First of all, she didn't get a nap at the daycare so she decided to sleep on the way. When we got there, she woke up and wasn't in the best of moods. That poor dental assistant tried everything to make up to Ciara, but she wasn't cooperating. I'm praying under my breath for her to behave so I don't have to make another appointment. Then the answer to prayer came! Ciara had to potty. I took this time to give her a "motherly lecture" on how she would open her mouth and let them count her teeth. She sweetly nodded her head and was great the rest of the visit.

Thankfully all three of my girls do well with these visits. The dentist started checking Lauren when she was 12 months old because the other two were there. I think that helped her! We go to a Pediatric dentist which is wonderful for the kids. They have me lay in the chair and then Lauren lays on me with her head back over my shoulder. It works great and she lays there very nicely. Ciara may do better next time.
